Hi dusty!
Welcome!
I'm so glad you could join us! Another long-time Darren fan!

Yup, Darren oozed charisma in that scene. I remember even my husband, who was more of a general audience member than a fan, asked who was that guy and commented how well done was the performance of "Teenage Dream."
dusty, did you see A Very Potter Musical after you saw Darren on Glee?

Yes, his humor and quirkiness also were the first things to draw me in. I happen to be a big fan of adorkable people. I also like how he is easy-going and down-to-earth, yet has such a great work ethic. Aw, he is a like a ray of sunshine (to brighten up those cloudy London days). In fact, I was going through a tough time when he appeared on Glee, and his positivity was one of the things that helped me at that time. And I agree, he is so talented, with a wonderful, unique singing voice.

I also think he has such a knack for composition and song writing that I would love him to compose a musical (a proper musical not a Starkid parody) at some stage. Think he would nail that.
I can completely understand where you are coming from, dusty. Films, TV, and music are definitely more accessible to his international fans. (BTW, we now have a member from Germany, one from Brussels and one from London.
I'm from California. Lilikoiluv didn't say where she is from, but wherever it is, it's nice and sunny, because she's a ball of sunshine too.) I agree with you that I think he is talented as a composer and it would be soooo wonderful if he would compose a musical! He can start with regional theater or off-Broadway. I think he would do really well if he ever chose to do that and was able to get funding behind him. I am confident we will get that album. It will happen! I just know it!

Like you Poppy I also loved his portrayal of Lee in Imogen, boy, was he delish in that, and I found him hilarious in AHS. I'm gutted I didn't get to experience his Hedwig, if I had, that would no doubt be right up there. The songs I've heard from that are fantastic!
Yes, Blaine will always be special to me too.
Darren did a good job of portraying Blaine in such a way that people really bonded with the character. Yes, he was funny in AHS! So obnoxious and rude. Darren must have had so much fun playing such a different character, as well as acting with someone as respected as Kathy Bates. I hope someday, some how, Darren can play Hedwig at the West End or another location overseas. Cross our fingers! Given how much Darren loves Hedwig and the Angry Inch, it may happen at some point. I agree, he put so much emotion into the songs from Hedwig and he sounded wonderful in them.
So glad that you are here to engage in conversations about Darren and other things, like TV shows, films and music, dusty! Thank you for joining this little forum! I appreciate it!
