On the set of the theater’s current tenant Kinky Boots, the celebrities raised their voices in support of You Gotta Believe, New York’s only non-profit specifically dedicated to finding permanent families for foster care youth, 13 and over, who are difficult to place because of their age. Every year, nearly 25,000 kids in the U.S. age out of the foster care system and must transition into adulthood without the support and love of a “forever” family. The event was produced and hosted by Sirius/XM radio host Seth Rudetsky and his husband, producer James Wesley. “There is a need for people to be aware that there are children out there that need homes,” Rivera explained on the pre-show red carpet, “that need love, that need support to grow up to be responsible and wonderful human beings. You need family, and James and Seth brought it to my attention and to everybody here. I hope more people will be interested.”

Ulterior Motives: Criss, along with Chita Rivera, Megan Hilty, Seth Rudetsky, Stephanie Mills, & many more, took the stage the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on September 11 to raise money and awareness at the Voices for the Voiceless: Stars for Foster Kids benefit concert. Proceeds from the evening directly benefit You Gotta Believe, New York’s only nonprofit specifically focused on finding permanent families for youth in foster care aged 13 years and older.

Back in July, a galaxy's worth of Broadway stars descended on Orlando to help the community heal and raise funds in the aftermath of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub.

"From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert for Orlando," which took place at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, sold out in record time — leaving many disappointed.

Good news for them: Broadway Records this month is releasing a CD, DVD and Blu-ray of the event.

. . . Other performers include Chita Rivera, Lillias White, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Darren Criss and Jesse Mueller. Our own VarieTease, Orlando Philharmonic and Orlando Gay Chorus's Menage ensemble also participated.

Broadway Records president Van Dean says the release is planned for Dec. 16. But you can pre-order at broadwayrecords.com/cds, and the items should be shipped in time for Christmas.

You can feel good knowing that not only will "From Broadway With Love" be a present for whoever unwraps it, but it's also a gift to the community. Net proceeds will be donated to the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida, the Hope and Help Center of Central Florida and Zebra Coalition.
