Ricky Martin wrote:It’s a really cool series, beautifully written. A bit dramatic but it’s an honor for me to be working with incredible actors and actresses like Penelope Cruz, Edgar Ramirez, Darren Criss, people that I love, that I respect and it was an amazing experience. I can’t wait for you to check it out. It’s very dramatic but very uplifting at the same time. And we’re going to touch on some subjects that are very important. When I work on these scenes I just think about the world healing - that’s how powerful this series is going to be.

The suggestion at first is a body bag, but it proves to be a suit bag (because Versace= fashion). The background noise: It sounds like police calling in the crime scene? So simple, yet so well done.

P.S. I just wanted to add that I like the camera angle of the promo video in the previous post (see above), where the point of view is coming from the direction of the casket. Quiet, yet dramatic.

I didn't have a chance to post these pics earlier, so thought I would post them now.
Sometimes it looks like Darren was in character (of Andrew Cunanan)--he looks a bit intense. (If someone looked at me in this way, I would blurt out, "I'm sorry! I won't do it again!" )

Darren has such an expressive face (I think it has to do with his large anime-like eyes and his dramatic eyebrows). In the first pic, he looks a bit scary and intense, and even more so in the pic that is 3rd from the top. In the last pic, he looks sad.

This looks soooo good (and so timely, considering the solar eclipse that occurred yesterday)!

From creation myths to the Big Bang to alien life forms, a constellation of actors will bring to life the story of the Cosmos in the words of the great poets, astronomers, comics, mythologists, musicians, philosophers, scientists, cosmological physicists, astronauts, and mystics. Accompanied by rousing renditions of classical and contemporary music, we will contemplate our galaxy with such visionaries as David Bowie, Elton John, Monty Python, Copernicus, Galileo, Einstein, Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Stephen Hawking, and Diane Ackerman. Los Angeles Times wrote: Stars reading about our stars: Sterling K. Brown, Darren Criss and others to perform 'In the Cosmos'
August 22, 2017
WordTheatre founder Cedering Fox traveled to Wyoming with her father and 19-year-old daughter to experience the total eclipse of the sun, a phenomenal display of astronomical majesty that occurred the same week that Fox will stage her biggest show yet, “In the Cosmos: Where we Come From, Where We Are, and Where We Are Going” at the Ford Amphitheater on Saturday.
Fourteen actors including Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”), Darren Criss (“Glee”), Lesley Nicol (“Downton Abbey”) and Stephen Tobolowsky (“Silicon Valley”) will read the writing of great thinkers, philosophers, poets, explorers and scientists, including Carl Sagan, Maya Angelou, Aristotle, Isaac Newton, Jacques Cousteau and Sally Ride. The spoken word will be accompanied by orchestration by prominent film-composer Jonathan Sacks and musical performances by Inna Faliks, Wayne Bergeron, Page Hamilton and others.

“This is a literary, musical, philosophical, scientific exploration,” Fox said of the project, which came to be after months of research. Fox and her assistants checked out more than 100 books from libraries in New York and L.A. and ended up with more than 1,000 pages of research that Fox crafted into a script that runs almost two hours, including intermission.
The script reads like a mash-up of creation myths, poetic descriptions of all things star dust-related and penetrating thoughts about the mystery of the universe and our place in it.
“The moral is that human beings all have so much more in common than what is different,” said Fox, who founded WordTheatre in 2003 and is also an accomplished voice-over actor. “It is such a privilege to be alive on this planet. We have to take care of it, and we have to take care of each other.”
The actors working with WordTheatre tend to be big believers in Fox’s message of love and unity, which is why they donate their time to her when she calls.

Of her latest project, Tobolowsky wrote: “From ancient myth, to modern poetry, to the gentle wisdom of Albert Einstein, shaken and stirred by the humor of Douglas Adams, and wrapped in the beauty of the music of Bach and Ravel, ‘In the Cosmos’ aims to touch the heart and mind and leave the viewer with the same gift Carl Sagan brought to us: the joy of wonder.”

The EW issue is worth buying, but here’s some details about the Versace production from it that I haven’t seen mentioned elsewhere.
Spoilers follow.
- Ricky and Edgar have already shot a sex scene. - Versace was reportedly HIV-positive and the production is going to treat this as truth. - Donatella’s biggest concern about the project was her children being depicted, so they removed that element. - There will be nine episodes, instead of ten like OJ had. - Instead of a standard writers’ room, Tom Rob Smith is expected to craft all nine episodes. - OJ had a linear narrative, but Versace will cut back and forth between 1997 and Versace’s and Cunanan’s pasts. - “There’s a propulsive thriller energy to the episodes, as well as heavy doses of family politics and glamour.” - Giorgio Armani will appear but has yet to be cast. - Edgar Ramirez: “It’s a very dramatic story. It’s a story about family. It’s a story about fate. In a way it’s very classic - it’s almost like a Greek tragedy.” Gleekto says: Thank you for this submission. Cool things.

Darren Criss backstage at iHeartRadio Canada MMVAs (June 18th, 2017) | Facebook Live
I like that he started by thanking the press. Around 1:35, Darren was asked about Versace. At Point 2:30, Darren speaks highly of working with Ryan Murphy, that he is honored to be a part of the project, and that he is inspired by such talented cast members. He was asked about wanting to recreate any roles. I couldn't make out everything he said. He mentioned that playing a role that has been done already does happen often in theater, but not so much in film. He also said he is a fan of original content (here's hoping he gets to play a role in a piece that is original, or even better, that someday he has a hand in creating an original theater or film piece, or TV role--come on Fox, still hoping for Royalties to happen, maybe a different season or mid-season!). I couldn't make out the last question, but it seemed that Darren praised the person asking the question for inspiring young girls and he talked about being inspired by young people. I like that he continues to say, as he always has said, that inspiration is a two-way street, that young people inspire him just as much as he inspires them.
This video is a little longer, with a little more at the beginning.

“I didn’t hear of anyone that didn’t want to come to the room,” executive producer and “champagne puppy” Kyle Joe told Billboard. “We had almost all the stars come in except Lorde, Niall [Horan], and Iggy [Azalea]. Many stars tried to come in multiple times and were upset that they couldn’t stay the whole night. We had to nudge Shay Mitchell out and she, jokingly, tried to steal one. Camila didn’t want to be anywhere else and both said it was the best thing Much has ever done. I heard Darren Criss was allergic, but that didn’t stop him.”

UsMagazine wrote:Darren Criss Explains His Viral Nude Selfie: 'Everyone Gets to Do One'
June 19, 2017
No shame in his nude selfie game! Weeks after Darren Criss shared a slightly NSFW photo to Instagram, the Glee alum opened up about his initial hesitation to post the eye-popping picture.
Alongside the now-viral photo, in which he’s posing in the mirror completely nude — except for a strategically placed Speedo that he is holding instead of wearing — Criss wrote: “So what’s more red? My sunburn, my speedo, or YOUR FACE??? #ACSVersace”
Hitting the “share” button on the Tuesday, May 30, post wasn’t Criss’ first instinct, but after getting words of encouragement from his loved ones, the actor, 30, decided to go for it. “It actually took many many days to figure out if I was going to do it or not,” Criss told Us Weekly at the iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards in Toronto, Canada, on Sunday, June 18. "I asked a couple of my friends, I asked my girlfriend and they all agreed I should do it.”
The American Crime Story actor, who is dating writer/producer Mia Swier, joked that the photo is something that every member of the photo-sharing app should be entitled to post "I’m not much of social [media] guy, but I feel like everyone gets to do one,” he explained of the post, which has more than 240,000 “likes” to date. "Life is too short. Sammy Davis Jr. once said, ‘If they don’t talk about you, they don’t give a damn.’”
Criss also opened up about shifting his focus from acting to music while American Crime Story is on hiatus. "I’m concentrating mostly on my music and my band,” he said. "My band is called Computer Games and our debut came out in April. It’s a band with my brother and basically the project we have been working on our entire lives.”
