Here’s a great video of Computer Games’ “Lost Boys Life” from my new friend @NateDeeOHgee. Feat. Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES, from the Holiday Variety Show at the Fonda on Dec. 13th. Video quality is way better than anything I got.

Computer Games, fronted by ex-Glee star Darren Criss, appropriately brought some genuine holiday cheer by beginning with “Wonderful Christmas Time.” In a couple of smart moves, Mayberry joined the band to sing the title track off their new EP, Lost Boys Life, and closed the set by covering Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin’.” When Criss, alone on stage at this point, hit the song’s highest note he momentarily fumbled, but the audience cheered him on. It was fairly brave for a newer band to cover such a song, but Petty was what was needed to heighten the camaraderie.

Emociona México a Darren Criss
March 31, 2018
Mexico City.- Fascinated by the idea of meeting his Mexican fans for the first time, Darren Criss shared his feelings about his first visit to the country to offer two shows.
“It gives me the chills just to be here, it’s a mission accomplished, a dream come true, it’s a fascinating moment,” Darren said yesterday, when he arrived at the meeting for an exclusive talk in the center of Coyoacán.
Famous for the series Glee and recently seen as the killer Andrew Cunanan in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, the 31-year-old Californian manifested the reason for his frenzy to be in this capital.
“This is the first time I come to a country in Latin America, and although I am clear that it does not represent everything, because there is a lot of cultural diversity, I do believe that it is the first big step to extend through the region and then visit more countries,” said Criss.
“When I put together a show, wherever it is, it’s a varied concert of what my career has been. It’s a bit of Glee, Broadway, StarKid, my own music, from (the band) Computer Games, which makes It’s exciting because it has a palette of many colors. ”
What the artist wants is that those who come to his concert, connect with him with the idea of having fun and spending an unforgettable time.
“What I want is to always go beyond people’s expectations of me,” said the actor, who, unlike his well-known image of a washed and shaved face, came with a bulging beard.
“The beard means I’m not working on camera, or doing a role, I’m comfortable, it feels good but I think that could mean that I’m unemployed now,” he said with a laugh.
In a brief tour of Coyoacán, Criss posed in the fountain of the coyotes, went inside to see the Church of San Juan Bautista, took a look at balloons that the vendors of the plaza brought and took a video of an singer doing songs of “Cri Cri”.
“I came to work, but since they’re on holidays here in Mexico City, they tell me that they enjoy themselves in a fantastic way and there’s no traffic,” he said.
“Today (yesterday) I woke up like it was a day off, and the truth is that when I’m not working I’m a glutton, I eat a lot, I ordered chilaquiles, which, I would not eat regularly, but being in Mexico City why wouldn’t I do it?”.
With 20 years of theatrical career, which was where he started, and some independent films, Criss said he loves meeting different characters and that fill him with expectations.
“The challenges are the same, you try to connect in so many ways with the audience, and you expect to create a complete character with which people can identify, it’s great being able to do as many different things as possible,” said the singer of “I Don’t Mind”.
“For me everything is to interpret, it can be drama, musical, I like to generate a fascination for what I represent. For me, it’s all about telling a story, about representing, looking for new colors, new tones. ”

Does this mean we could achieve a more unified and inclusive world if everyone understood that they were part of the same “genetically proven” family tree?
On the latest episode of Spit, host Baratunde Thurston sits down with AJ Jacobs, NY Times best-selling author of “It’s All Relative,” and brothers Darren and Chuck Criss of the band Computer Games to discuss the concept of family and the potential for creating unity across the entire human population.
Both have very different stories and experiences. Darren and Chuck share how they were raised as a close-knit family in San Francisco, thousands of miles from relatives across the country and as far as the Philippines.
“A lot of our cousins and extended family, we didn’t really know growing up because it was just on the other side of the world and we didn’t grow up in the age of social media and everything, so it wasn’t till later in life we connected with them”
